Spinning the Torah back to the beginning... The holiday of Shemini Atzeret holds within it the joy of returning to the beginning with Simchat Torah. The rabbis teach us that the 8th day after Sukkot is a day when God does not want to let us go. We have been sheltered in God's tents, and God asks us for one more day. During this 8th day we rise above the linear mindset that we inhabit and return to the cyclical, infinite 8, just like the Torah scroll with its 2 rolled sections. Join us as we have an opportunity to embody this through dance. Children and adults will spin us back to the beginning to embody the newness of a new year.
